My truck for the past 3 years I've owned it. Has eaten or possibly they just go bad but about 6 cps sensors. About a week ago it the cps went bad replaced it. Now it went out again. And won't start. No tac movement so I figure its the sensor. But all the ford dealers around my school arnt open on the weekends. The cps wiring harness is clean no cuts or burns. What could it be?
You could have chafed wires
Grab the wire and wiggle them around then try to start it
Where are you getting the CPS from?
I tracked them back to where they hook in to the loom with the uvch harnesses. Ive always bought them from ford. Last one I got they warranted gonna see if they warranty this one.
When you pull it inspect the end of it to make sure nothing it hitting/rubbing it
Ill check that tomorrow in the light. The connector is clean on it. Also the cps the metal bend does that little pieces like ride on the wheel or does it sit right above? Like what im saying is does the position of the metal effect the sensor?
I went to ford bought a new cps. and installed it. still no tach movement. I check the wires leading to the cps they are all clean. i moved them around to see if it would do anything im still not getting a tach movement.
A lose chip can cause strange thing.
Have you tried removing the chip?
Are you 100% sure the wiring is good ?
No i have not ! ill try this when the rain stops.
But looking at it visual its not soaked no cuts or scratches i was covered in wire loom before i moved it and it all broke off. the wires just run into a hole like by the water pump right ?
I took the chip out and still the same. i moved all the wire loom and started from the bottom up. all the wires look clean. Any other ideas? still getting a wts but no tach movement when cranking.
