I always liked black and white for truck colors.
Other colors are nice, but white and black just look more professional to me. but thats me.

Sounds like with the aluminum f150 coming right soon, there stands the possibility to maybe remove paint and polish the aluminum so it looks like an old school fighter plane lol.

Just clear coat the aluminum after it is polished... That would be different.

I'm an autobody repairer and painter....and thankfully I live in an area up in northern Canada that never sees hail.

There was hail about 100 miles south of me a few years ago. PDR guys move in (we call them hail chasers). I made a trip down to watch them do a repair and was totally amazed at how well them did their job. That is an art in it's own.

Now, having said that, I have seen signs of delaminating paint in those repair spots at later dates. Some had the paint fall off, and others were noticeable when doing a later sand and paint repair.

All in all, I would say they do a very good job.

They do have to drill holes and put plugs in to access some of the dents.

I had a guy pull a silver dollar size dent out of the body line in the hood. Never knew it was there.

Got my truck back on the 30th, they did a great job. All the dents removed, even the one I made in the roof.

Good as new.

Only one small issue, when I picked it up and unlocked the door I checked my cab lights, one was not working. I told the body shop manager and he said humm. I told him I installed them and I bet they knocked a connection loose when working in that area. They quickly dropped the headliner and fixed it.

Glad to look down the hood and see nothing but smooth paint now.

I had the 'paintless' hail repair on my hood a couple of years ago. In short, I was amazed at the results. The hood is perfect! I must have had at least 50 or 60 dimples and they are gone.

All I had to pay was the deductible.

jammer
