I currently have a 1999 Ford Superduty F-250 7.3 diesel 4WD extended cab, the veh. has approx. 220,000 miles.
I don't need this heavy of a veh nor 4 WD and the price of diesel, whew.
I'm looking at a 2008 Ford F150 with the 4.6 V8 and extended cab. The
veh has approx. 90,000 miles and comes with an extended warranty they are asking 10,990 ..
My question is how will the F150 hold up ?
Is it a reliable vehicle ?
How would driving it differ from my F250 ?
What is your opinion about this trade ?
I respect the Superduty form and am looking for any and all help and opinion in here.
Thanks
Coming from a 7.3 id recommend the 5.4 because youll miss the tq with the 4.6. You will definitely notice a diffrence in driving. Smoother, lil to no play and the cabin is a lil cozier too me. I think your absolutely robbing the guy with this trade. I dont get kbb or nada (and no offense to you) saying a truck of that year and mileage end up being worth more than a truck 4 years newer with 100k less miles but thats me personally. Anyways it will definitely last. I had a 5.4 last over 230k miles then I rolled it
Stage 1 and a chip puts out more hp than a stock 150 especially tq. And trust me on the programmer youll never go back. Ive found setting 3 works the best all around and see better fuel econ. Definitely recommend php. Ik ive told you a hundred times by now brown falcon Haha

Yes, I realize it is a completely different beast from my diesel. I wasn't expecting anything comparable from a F150 after having 350hp and 700 lb/ft. It's sure nice having something smaller and better for my family though. Just wish it got better mileage. So far it gets worse than the crew cab long bed 4x4 diesel. Wish I could afford an Ecoboost...
