So my first project was to tackle changing the door locks (as the ignition works, but the key doesn't fit the doors and there's only one key).

Upon opening the door I found tons of leaves and this:


Someone along the line either lost, removed, or ate the linkage and the lock and core are held in not by clips, but by a black, tar-like putty. After I cleaned out the leaves I found one complete linkage and clips, but i'd like to replace the set-up if I can; I also need the other side.

Bill, do you or anyone else know of any NOS avaliable for this? I have new lock cylinders, I basically need everything from those to the door. (I found the part numbers in another post, but cannot find that post today, sorry).

A boneheaded former owner lost the retainer (22023) that retains the lock cylinder to the door...so used putty instead.

Also missing is the link rod (22152) from the cylinder to the latch and the clip (21952) used to retain it. The control link (21954) is present on the cylinder, but is it any good?

If you peel back the door weather strip slightly, you can see the hole where the clip fits to the cylinder.
