we were pulling the truck out at a 90* angle if you couldn't tell. and that truck wasn't even budging under its own power...my friend who was in the f150 said it felt like he got hit by a bus. and a big yank like that with a chain...yeah not surprised
Not to sound judgmental, but that was a really stoopid move to try with a chain.
[QUOTE=acf6and hey, good thing its not a prius! would have ripped it in half![/QUOTE]
Hence why i was as far back as possible, not my truck...either way, you can smash stuff into a wall all day long. put a prius in front of an F550 and see who wins

An F550 is far from the biggest thing on the road.
Then when I was working on my truck this morning this happened.
I have a 07 CC Lariat and this morning I started my truck and the defrost blower was on high and the climate control was off.
I tried all the controls and it just will not turn off and the blower will only go down to about medium.
I can get it to change between modes but when I hit the off button it goes to high in the defrost ducts and there is nothing on the screen.
I have now pulling the blower motor fuse to stop it.
Im not sure if it does it all the time, or just when hvac controls are on, but a vacuum leak for the electronic 4x4 will cause hvac to just defrost. Doesnt sound right for it to defrost all the time though
I can change the settings, floor, vents, etc but just can't turn it off.
A guy on the 6.0 forum said he had the same thing and it was the blower resistor and he gave me the part #.
So I think I will give it a try.
I will just need to order one tomorrow.

I'm no expert, but I would test it with an ohmmeter before putting the new one. Talk is cheap, but parts aren't.

I was going to.
I just need to dig out the full set of manuals I have to find it.
But if it is hard to get to and the part is only a few bucks I just might order one and change it.
Good morning all. I guess we are in for some rain and wind today. I'm going to go the campground and set up the camper for the season soon. Dogs love swimming in the stream.
Can it be dangerous? Yes... has it been done thousands of times by thousands of people without incident? Yes...
Jerking it like that with a chain isn't the best idea but the idea of "You NEED to use a strap to free a stuck vehicle" is ridiculous.
I'm not talking about that. Chains can break, but so can straps.
I'm talking about the shock load to the equipment. Had a proper recovery strap been used for a pull like that there wouldn't have been any frame damage to either truck. I've pulled lots of folks out with a chain, but I've NEVER jerked it like that. I also have respect for my equipment and that of the guy I'm pulling out.
