it is settled somewhat. Still arranging and slowly going through the boxes of rarely used stuff. I still need to get the heavy freaking console tv upstairs to finish off the play/guest room. Able to park the wife's Santa Fe in the garage now, but only until I get ready to pull the motor out of my truck. I want to save up a bit and get a few extras before I pull it.
They said 30% chance of rain for yesterday, but then changed it to thunderstorms and lightning. And they were not kidding. I drove down to Ridgecrest (southern border of Death Valley) to pickup a 93 F250 long bed with the 7.3 diesel in it for a friend of Bill's (the guy in Oroville who bought my Jag) who just happens to own a used car lot, and does more buying and selling on CL than Bill does, and on the way back, I got drenched in rain. And the high winds were freezing cold.
I was stuck in Tehachapi for 6 hours because when I stopped there to get gas, I found out one of the trailer wheels had disappeared. Tried getting help from AAA and Allstate roadside assistance, but I had already used my 200 mile tow and I was 142 miles away. Allstate only gives me a $250 limit, and the tow from there to Fresno would have cost $1,342! So, I ended up waiting until it got dark, and then driving home with 3 wheels on the trailer at 50 mph all the way. So, now I am in the process of getting 2 wheels, and tires, and replacing the hub. I want to have a spare this time. Maybe I will buy some extra studs and lug nuts too just in case.
I am glad the trailer held up. Also, we checked the hub, and it is fine, so I just bought two new tires, and two wheels from Les Schwab, and now am looking for the correct studs. Took one of the old studs to Pep Boys, but they could not find a match, and the closest one they had didn't have the correct size shank, and they did not have enough of them anyway. So, tomorrow after church, I will try Autozone. If worse comes to worse, I will wait until Monday, and go to Redneck Trailer Supply in Fowler.
