Getting ready to buy my first diesel, and asked the owner for pics of it (he is a fellow FTE Nor Cal chapter member) and he sent this pic of the engine to me. I know there is supposed to be a plastic cover on top, but I don't know what it is called. The truck is a 1995 F250 4x4 SuperCab, with the 7.3L PSD engine. Tried searching eBay for one, but since I don't know the name, was unable to find it. I am sure I could find it in a local JY, but was just curious as to what it is called.
You've got about half of it there Jim. In my opinion it's really just in the way whenever I want to work on it, so the first time I had to pull it it stayed off. It hangs in my bedroom now. If you want one I have a buddy that may be willing to part with his.
The cover really is almost pointless. More of a hassle, like in most cars, in my opinion. They are mostly for looks, but how many ppl actually look at it, unless doing maintenance and it's in the way.
