I just replaced 03` 350 V 10. reg cab single wheel with a 7.5 meyer plow to a14`250 6.2 extended cab long bed whit a 8.5 V plow Snow dogg made by buyers.
Got the truck about three weeks ago and the plow two weeks ago. Haven`t got to plow with it yet and its killing me.
I plowed with my 02 250 eclb 7.3, had a 9'2 boss vxt on it. It did great, pushed a lot of snow. Now I have a reg cab 2011 350 6.2 with the same plow. It is awesome it handles the plow great and I run out of traction before I run out of power. Check out www.plowsite.com lot of great info on there
I just finished one season with my f250 crew and Western 7.5' ProPlow. All residential driveways, and it did great in 18" of snow. I will be adding a backblade next year to do a better job back dragging. Other than freezing my butt off, nothing beats a tractor with front end loader and back blade though.

Wrecks driveways using a loader but your correct. I did 65 driveways and 7 parking lots with my 250 , 6.2L and Boss Standard Duty. This was worse winter in 100yrs for Winnipeg. I was lucky as the employees had to shovel in weeks of -40C weather. Truck and plow handled this winter well.

copy and paste it in the box that shows the site you are on. then click enter and enter the code in the confirmation box.
Half ton is good for driveways but far to small for the larger heavier plows required for parking lots.
I used a 1/2 ton for 3 years plowing parking lots under contract in northern Alberta. I also plow out the entire golf course driveway and parking lot, power was never an issue. We get snow.
I plow my entire street and the school parking lot plus half the field for the maintenance crew.
4wd and good tires, f150 and you are good to go.
I use the 3/4t now because a buddy needed a truck, and loved my 1/2t.

What plow did you use on F150? Western has the Suburbinite and Boss suggests the Sport Duty. I found that a half ton truck did give me the options required to plow larger lots. The Boss Standard Duty is 900lbs and with the optional wings add another 100lbs. That would be alot of illegal weight on a front of a half ton without fully customising the suspension. That being done, truck with that plow would probably still be illegal in Canada to drive on streets.
