MBRP DPF back exhaust!

It will be here tomorrow and I have to work figures. I know it won't sound like the deleted version but it will help with the resonator and looks. Will post pics on Monday when I get a chance to install.

Pretty sure a DPF-back will be my next mod, try to reduce/eliminate that hissing action.....

Any particular reason you went with MBRP?

I agree not to mention the hideous exhaust tip on the king ranch trucks. Would have been happier if it was chrome. If you would like I will send more info later. Purchased mine from XDP Diesel. Cheaper then dynomax and I like the look of this compared to they dynomax.

I'm not even so much hung up over the "looks" of the tips or "want" to upgrade to something different from the aftermarket, I just....holy cow that hiss! It's embarrassing!

Just the last few weeks down here the weather's randomly been "nice", so the windows go down a little, rear glass slides open, a/c off, and go running around, and NOW I know what all those I've read about were talking about......ugh....this is the first I've heard it, and it's unacceptable

Hell I'd even be fine with cutting the dpf-back off say mid-way through that straight pipe that connects to the axle hump pipe, and slipping on a simple turn-down tip. I can do that for under $20, and hopefully eliminate/minimize that screeching while in boost. Matter of fact, I may just go ahead and do that....sheesh....

I am currently dumping mine right after the axle pointing about 45 degrees down. The only thing I'd caution you on is if you park in a garage, dumping pre-axle is going to lead to a lot of fumes in the garage. I know because there is a lot of fumes in mine already and I'd assume it would be worse if I dumped sooner. So if you park in a garage and auto-start it is something to consider.

I have a brand new MBRP exhaust and tip sitting in my shop in the box. The original one had a hanger break off at the very rear so the thing dropped on the ground and got scratched up. I hacked it off and rehung it as a dump behind the rear axle and have liked it so much I haven't bothered to install the new one. One of these days I'll get to it.

EXACTLY Plus I kind of like how you can't see the exhaust pipe, but when I hit it all sort of black smoke comes out from under the truck

That just gave me an idea....guys, I don't want to sound "cheap", but for all that I'm after and if I'm gonna "cut" my factory exhaust anywhere, why not just cut it right after the axle turn-down, in front of the resonator, in other words? And just try running it just like that?

LOL! True story: I was BS'ing with the local service writer shortly after buying my truck and it was in there for something....I mentioned the sunvisor plug-n-play for the garage door opener being one of the things I wished I had on my truck.....he paused for a second and asked:

"will your truck fit in your garage?"

No...... no, it doesn't...... hadn't thought that through....... the outlanders and the missus' new odyssey enjoy the garage, my truck toughs it out outside lol, so no fumes worries here

Yes, that's how I'm running and I love it. My truck fits in the garage with 2" to spare in the front and 2" in the back. Luckily I have 8' tall doors.

I may have gotten slightly air born when it happened, but it shouldn't have happened and MBRP agreed

Regardless of manufacturers, will not void warranty?

I'm also embarrassed beyond comparisons with the pissed off "house cat" hiss from the stock system. I'm more than thrilled with the performance and power. Predominantly looking for a better sound/performance without compromising the warranty. Any dpf back exhaust system would work out and not void the warranty I take it from these discussions than? If so I'm ordering immediately.
