flex plate

this is confusing what flex plate would i need for a 4.9 300 164 tooth balanced or not balanced??

My advice is to pull the inspection cover off the front of the bell housing and look at your current one. If there is a weight attached, you need a balanced one, if not then you need a neutral flex plate.

It would be less confusing if you had posted all the info. 1980/86: There are THREE different 164T flex plates for 4.9L (300 I-6).

What year is it? Which A/T does it have? C4, C5, C6 or AOD?
