Oh how true that is Rich. That is a pet peeve of mine. Whenever I hear someone say "oh it's a 78 with a 79 front end cause it's got the square headlights." I just have to educate them a little. And yes I have the original sales brochures that prove this.
How ever I must add that the round headlights weren't original to the 79 model year on
any of the interior package. They all had the square headlights.
DOT reg says 2, so it will get 2 somethings and probably a LED light bar.
Maybe some PIAA/Marchal/Cibie/HELLA for 2 others.
It came with round ones in 73 so I might just go with that?
I would say 2 round mounted near that triangle brace area to the side of the radiator, to create a sense of a "front" to the thing? And then a light bar with 4?
Road legal?! Y'all got some flexible laws where you come from, fo sho.
My truck has square headlights, BUT I like the round ones better, gives the truck a more "Classic Look". The square headlights look ok as well, giving the trucks in my opinion a more "Mean look" or "Tough Look"
