Oh how true that is Rich. That is a pet peeve of mine. Whenever I hear someone say "oh it's a 78 with a 79 front end cause it's got the square headlights." I just have to educate them a little. And yes I have the original sales brochures that prove this.

How ever I must add that the round headlights weren't original to the 79 model year on
any of the interior package. They all had the square headlights.

No such thing as square headlamps, they're rectangular.

Notice that both round & rectangular headlamp parts are listed for 1978 and 1979 (1978/ ).

Left/Right Upper: F100/350 / Left/Right Lower: Bronco (U150).

Sorry Bill. But unless I'm missing something the chart shows both round and rectangular for 78. And rectangular only for 79.

Rich I vote Hexagon. That way you'll have them all covered in one set up.

DOT reg says 2, so it will get 2 somethings and probably a LED light bar.

Maybe some PIAA/Marchal/Cibie/HELLA for 2 others.

It came with round ones in 73 so I might just go with that?

I would say 2 round mounted near that triangle brace area to the side of the radiator, to create a sense of a "front" to the thing? And then a light bar with 4?

Road legal?! Y'all got some flexible laws where you come from, fo sho.

Same DOT regs as a VW dune buggy.....at least that is what am planning on having a copy of when I go to the insp place.

And some turning signals, horn, rear view mirror and maybe one side mirror.

I think it depends on the truck, I think some trucks look good with round headlights, but some look good with square headlights....

My truck has square headlights, BUT I like the round ones better, gives the truck a more "Classic Look". The square headlights look ok as well, giving the trucks in my opinion a more "Mean look" or "Tough Look"

I like either. I currently have one of each. Round on 78 Bronco, Square on 79 F150.
