Hello All--
Past Ford truck owner.... 1997 F250 7.3; 1960 F100
Looking for a truck to tow a 5er or TT. Don't want to spend $50K on a new one, been there done that. Love the 7.3 diesel, but trying to keep costs down (purchase price, maintenance, repairs, etc). All of the clean low mileage 7.3 are upwwards of $15k-$20K! This has me looking for a clean gas model. This is what has brought me to this wonderful site!
Hoping to learn from this site and share what I know!
Welcome, can't beat those 5.4 and 6.8 modular engines. They suck up the gallons but are reliable. Sounds like you'll want a smoker if you're pulling a big load.

I purchased a PSD dually cab and chassis utility truck to tow my boat. The trucks with utility beds don't get much love and seemingly command lower purchase prices. For me, the bed adds weight to the rears to mitigate slipping on the boat ramp. If you need to tow a 5th wheel trailer, I suspect you could scrap the utility bed and build something to fit your needs.
