I don't get it - I take every bagde and emblem off I can. If I could take off the ford emblems I would. Why would anyone care what motor is in your truck?

I think it is just personal choice...build yours the way you like it.

I'm kinda the same way, but to each his own, me personally, I prefer less chrome, badges, etc. But the truck in particular looks good, and if the owner likes it that way, so be it. IMO the badges he's added goes with the truck. I say Keep On, Keeping On!

......at some point EVERYONE does something out of pure self indulgent vanity......sticker on truck, hairstyle, clothing/style,vehicle type etc....personally I like the factory badges and like the custom stickers but to each their own....different strokes for different folks

I did it as kind of a joke to my buddy's eco boost sticker. I got so much feed back from every one at the car show / street race I left them. not one day goes buy that I don't get asked about my motor at a parking lot or red light so its kind of cool
Trying to decide on my white platinum truck what I want to do with the F-150 emblems on the fenders and tail gate. I'm currently in the process of blacking out the chrome on the truck.
The box chrome Limited badging was removed and replaced with semi-gloss black Limited badging. The headlights, tail lights, third brake light, and fog lights were swapped to black housing models, the front tow hooks were painted with black bed liner, the mirror amber turn signals and reflectors were swapped with black models, and the wheels were swapped to black with machined accents. The only chrome left on the truck is the door handles, the front grille, the F-150 badges, the Ford emblems, the Ecoboost badges, and the small strip on the running boards.
I'm thinking I could just mask off and paint the F-150 badges semi-gloss black completely and they would match the Limited badging on the box and that would be a fairly easy and cheap solution. If I remove them it'll yank all the adhesive off, so I'd rather just mask off and paint what's on there and just use rubbing compound to remove the overspray. The other solution would be to get the red and black FX4 Appearance package badges, but the issue is that they say FX4 on them and aren't the same syle as my current badges. Also, it's like 130 bucks for the badges, and they do require a decent amount of effort to install.
As far as the Ford emblems they are a bit tricker. Since they don't have raised lettering if you paint them it'll just look like a black blob. Also, the stickers that go over them don't cover the chrome outside. I know the easy fix for the front would be to just swap the grille with one that doesn't have the emblem and then I could get rid of my chrome grille at the same time, but the back one is harder since I have the camera. I guess the best bet would be to just remove the rear one and paint it.
The Ecoboost badges I'm thinking of just removing and leaving them off. They don't match anything on the truck, and I don't really care much for the location of them.
EDIT: Just noticed the Appearance package Ecoboost trucks don't use the Ecoboost badges, so most likely I'll just remove them. Looks cleaner without them.
Mine are just like yours. I'm debating doing the same thing you did. Just not sure if someone can mix me a can of white platinum metallic in a spray can. Haha Just seems like a lot of work to remove them, split them, paint them, put new adhesive on, and reinstall. lol Currently removing the Ecoboost door badges right now.

What I'm having done right now, is having a new PTM grille surround done, and having my body guy paint my new inserts. That way I'll know the F150 on them will match my paint. I've never been totally happy with the red I did, it never seemed to match the rest of the truck.
It is a bit of a pain separating the badges, but to me it's worth it. This will be the second set I've done.
Maybe stop at the best body shop in your area and talk to the guys. Maybe they'll help you out, either by painting them, or telling you where you could get a spraycan mixed for you.
I found removing the stock badges really didn't work well for me, I wound up bending them, so just bought those badges I linked to,and started with new.
