think the problem is please help thanks JED
I had a simular problem the oil inner cooler on the driverside blew a seal so the oil pumped into the raidator.
check your oil level, see if your water went there
I hate that word! But anyways Diesels and all of the 7.3L fords had problems with Cavitation. This is where the water eats through the cylinder wall causing little pin holes in the cylinder. The first symptons of this are small specks of oil in the water. Then what will happen is loss of power until eventually the piston gets hydrolocked. I had this happen to a 7.3L that I was working on and I know of PLENTY that the same problem has happened. The problem is usually the #7 cylinder. Pop the head off of the passenger side and take a mirror to stick down the #7 cylider, or the second one from the rear, And you should see some pin holes in the wall.
Eventually you will turn your truck off and the #7 cylinder's piston will end up below the holes. This will cause the water to come in and will lock up your engine.
The fix to this is a new $5000.00 engine!!!! Ouch but thats what I had to do! And I did it my self!
