I usually lurk around and post in the Excursion and 6.0 forums here but now am looking for advice on a super duty.
So here it goes, my family has a 2004 F550 4x4 with a dump body and plow, this truck has the 6.0 powerstroke in it. My dad purchased this truck brand new from the dealer. Truck now has a whopping 17k miles on it.
Yesterday my dad calls and asks what the symptoms were for the blown head gaskets on my 6.0. I am headed over tonight to hook up my insight and take it for a spin.
My question is this, would you sell it as is knowing you will not get as much as you could out of it, or fix it and sell it? The reason it would get sold in both scenarios is because it doesn't get driven and just costs money to sit in a garage.
If you can DIY - fix it before you sell. The buyer will negotiate you down based on dealer cost. If you need to have the dealer fix it, get a quote to give the buyer for fair price negotiation. My 2 cents.

We could do it ourselves, just don't have the time. We know what it would cost to fix it, since I just went through the same thing on my Excursion. Probably should have added that in my original post.
