Ran into the same thing and decided not to proceed because of the safety concern. The option then was to take the struts to a local shop to swap the springs, or punt and go with the Rancho Quick Struts (which I did). I think the local shop quoted $25-40 each strut, but I cannot recall specifically.

I agree with that , when I put Bilsteins on mine , after I had them off , I just took them to a local shop , and they changed them out for $50 I was glad to have them do it.
those coils are way heavier than the old cars used to be , a guy on another
forum , tried it with a cheap compressor , and the thing exploded.
