Carb Stuck Open
Let me tell what i have on her first...basically its the stock holly 4bbl and stock intake.
Ok. the problem i had while driving home was that the carb wouldn't lower the RPMs while shifting down ( its auto tranny C6) i did it earlie in the day and i would have to tthrow in to neutrual and revive it and thorw it into drive nad it would kick down. Now it stays WIDE open and runs up to 5 grand easly in NEUTRAL. My brakes were smoking trying to hold at a red light and would never quit.
Could the possiblities be the linkage missed up, or the kick down switch. I think i should just buy a new and say forget the stock and go with a EDELBROCK. if its a easy fix i will do that.....any thougts!!!!! HELP

Check for the return spring on the carb linkage, or see if it's geting stuck on something where the linkage hooks up on the carb. That happened on my Bronco and all it was was a bent arm that was getting stuck on some sheetmetal.
