spring perch question

I have a 84 F150 4x4 with the dana 44 IFS. I have had this one apart a while cleaning everything up and redoing from chassis up. Bolting up the passenger side I noticed the spring perches are different heights. The perch that sits on top of the stud bolt that holds the radius arm to the dana 44. Does anyone know if they should be the same height or does one go to a certain side. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Are there any numbers on them? If so I can look them up to determine which goes where.

The only numbers I seen on them was 4x4 marked on them. I will look them over again and see if I can find any thing else.

IIRC they are unique to each side, this can probably be verified in the parts catalog....

The taller one has on one lobe 811 and another lobe CA. On the shorter one one lobe says 81 and another lobe says BA. Both have 4x4 stamped on the side the spring sits on. Trying to get pic posted.

Brian, that's a good point - single or dual shocks?

Here's your pic:

Point out the numbers for the parts in the pic so Mr. Clean (ctubutis) or The Oklahoma Kid (Gary Lewis) can ID them.

One cannot determine that from the drawings, one needs to look in the Text section of the catalog to determine the actual replacement parts. The drawings are just general guides to help one locate the Group number of the part.

The two pictures Bill posted are for single- and dual-shock systems, not left and right.

5A307 is the basic part number, but this doesn't mean the parts are the same Right and Left.

When the prefix and suffix are added to the basic number, this gives the complete part number.

E8TZ-5A307-A (replaced E2TZ-5A307-A) Right & E2TZ-5A307-C Left

1982 F150 4WD & Bronco from 4/1982 / 1983/86 F150 4WD & Bronco / 1987/88 & 1989 F150 4WD before 5/1989 without stabilizer bar.

OK did some digging and got to talk to a nice guy down at Bob allen ford. By the engineering letters on it he found out that the one stamped CA goes to the passenger side and the stamping BA goes with the drivers side.

Thanks to all who helped me get this figured out.

I haven't been called a kid in decades, but thanks!

So, Bill supplied the #'s, but does that solve the problem?

Edit - Apparently so.
