YEE-HAW! A buddy of ours just had his E7TE heads converted to adjustable roller rockers now we can't find any valve covers to fit! Anyone else ever ran into this? Anyone know where to find a set of covers? We need 'em quick!
They have the EFI setup though. The tall ones aren't going to clear the intake. I am running roller rockers under my stock valve covers with no problem. You going to need one of two things. A stack of gaskets to raise the cover or valve covers that are 3 1/2 tall. The "Ford Racing" ones will clear stud girdles if you needed to use them. You can buy a set of chrome cheapies and see if they fit. Should run you a whopping $25.00. Just as an idea to see what will and wont clear.
The problem we're having is we can't find center bolt covers that are tall enough. I never thought about the intake giving us trouble. I figured since it didn't have a plenum(upper intake)hanging over either cover that the intake wouldn't be an issue. And we thought about the tall Motorsport covers but there's no place to bolt them around the outside edge. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear the first time.
what brand of rocker are you running?
did you have to get custom length push rods?
I have mocked up my E7TE's with the comp moly steel rollers and they clear the stock valve covers - but just barely.
did you remove the oil seperator baffle in the valve cover?
would it be possible for you to grind off some of the poly lock or valve cover to gain some clearance?
I don't anyone makes an aftermarket valve cover with the center bolts but you (or machine shop) may be able to modify (drill) an aftermarket set to fit.
The rockers are Harland Sharp and the pushrods are just stock length 3/8" hardend ones from Comp Cams. I'll look into removing the baffles. I don't think we can remove any of the polylocks but I'll check. Thanks a lot!
my rockers would not clear with out removing the baffle (s) they are removable with a couple of small screws.
I plan to use a "breather" cap from jegs with an internal baffle and external pcv line.
