I bought some bed rails off of e-Bay. They match up with the holes in my bed of my '72 F100 perfectly. Curious to know if the part number matches with this era.
The part number of the cross bar is C9TJ-9932222A. It's stamped FoMoCo. The part number on the two middle supports and the two bases is just a variation so I know they are all the same.
I tried looking at a generic part number description and the C9TJ would seem to indicate that it was for a 1969 Truck but that is as far as I got. Curious.
Either way I am pleased as they will fit nice and look nice on the truck.
Well I got the Bed Rails installed. Took longer to find the correct size stainless steel pan head bolts than to put them on. All the holes matched up exactly right. I'll have to keep my eye out for the correct plastic gaskets that should be under it, or try to make my own.
Still curious if I am reading the part number correctly and these are from '69. I uploaded a photo to my garage so I'll see if I can link it. I like the look and for $75 it can't be beat.
Yes. Bump body style.
C= 1960's decade
9= the year in the decade
T=Mostly used for "F" series trucks but I've seen it on more. Sometimes used universally for "trucks". Later the little Rangers used it also.
J=wierd letter designation because the part is an "accessory" part. This digit normally shows who's responsible for the part. I.E engine,electrical,body,etc.
Both the 6 1/2' and 8' bed rails are basically the same thru 1991.
I've listed both the following part numbers multiple times after FTE member Phil105 asked me to find him a 6 1/2' kit.
Phil bought one of these kits, installed it on his 1970 F100 Ranger XLT, it fit perfectly. There are pics of his truck with the rails installed in his garage.
I haven't looked recently, but there may be a few of both of these kits available NOS
Number Dummy or anyone else. I have two of the three pieces of a bed rail kit for each side. I need two of part number c9tj9932240. I have c9tj9932222 and 2241. Do you know where I could find them, or will I just need to keep checking ebay? Thanks
