Talking Diablo with a 2.3?

Would a Diablo chip help a 2.3 liter engine? I have a 97 Ranger XLT, automatic transmission (it's the 5 speed automatic).
I know they are tough little engines, but I sure would like just a bit more power out of my little truck. I've done tune-ups and all the things that should be done, and it runs better than it did when I bought it.
When I pulled the plugs for the first time, (at about 53,000) the poor girl was running on a cracked plug, and almost no electrodes on the plugs. (Somebody REALLY believed that you could run the thing on the original plugs for 100,000 miles). She now had 76,000 on her, and the more I drive her, the better she runs.
But, I digress.
I was just wondering if anybody has used a Diablo chip on the 2.3 liter engine, and if so, how much has it helped?

P.S. I bought the truck used (actual 2nd owner). I know better than to believe everything they tell you about running the plugs 100,000 miles. I always check the plugs when I buy a used vehicle.

Diablo with a 2.3?

Yes, they do help. We've sold a few without any returns. However, don't expect a miracle, there's only so much you can do for a smaller engine. Here's a good test of what you'll see: drive it with the A/C on max and turn off the A/C. If that's enough for you and you can live with using premium fuel, then the chip might be something to consider, otherwise look for something else.
