Ever sell off a car or truck only to later regret selling? That is me. Actually I have a few vehicles I regret selling but one stands out. I sold a 56' f100 small window back in 96' to a guy in Connecticut that owned a few domino pizza stores. I bought it off a guy named Tom over on the eastern shore in Maryland. It looked like the ZZtop red coupe with the same red, stripes and outlaw2 wheels with the spinner hub covers. It had a larger than normal rear window that was recessed about an inch into the cab. 351C with a fully boxed, smoothed and painted frame with an LTD frontend and a 57' 9" rear. Discs F&B.. Shaved handles, chrome running boards. The truck was painted blue before I sold it.
Why I let her go I don't know. I was hanging out at the dragstrip a lot and let some friends talk me into selling it to get a muscle car. I got a 69 GTO.
I'm always searching for it. And always will be......
Save some time and effort...build a new one, the aftermarket components available today are far better than what was available when that truck was built.
Mine was a 49 dodge truck with 35000 miles on it. My nephew and brother started taken things of it to redo and lost, let rust and messed up. I got mad and sold it.
I'll tell my dad's story. Back in the late 40s, my dad had a beater 40 Ford coupe with a good running engine and my mom had a very nice 39 Ford coupe with a blown engine. They just sold 'em both. My dad always regretted not swapping the engines out and keeping my mom's car. Dad's car didn't have a heater so he'd put rock salt in a sock, tie it up and use it to de-ice the windshield. He'd drive old M37 25 miles into Grand Rapids to see my mom when they were dating.
My Biggest regret was selling my 68 Dodge Super Bee.
My latest was selling my 72 Nova to a kid that wrecked it in front of me, in spectacular fashion, before he went to the DMV. I'm sure glad I had the cash in hand, and a signed Release of Liability that day, I'll tell you that.
But that sale was to get the cash to buy my 53 F100, so it doesn't hurt TOO much. :/
i sold a 40 ford coupe (mild, half done hot rod) to buy a 70 (in72) opel GT. i liked the opel but even my wife said we should have kept the 40. in 77 i bought my f1, on the road but in need of resto. it blew a piston in 84, i took it off the road but wanted to keep it. i moved it around to various family garages until i took it back out in 2006. it's now all redone and bettter than ever. much better than buying a nice one with no history.
My high school cars that I wish a hadn't sold were a 56 Chevy convertible, a 56 Chevy 2 door wagon, and a 65 Pontiac LeMans. All in excellent condition.
Later a '55 VW, a 56 Pontiac Wagon with about 500 pounds of chrome, an Izeta, and 76 BMW 2002.
Every car I've owned I wish I still had... but I can't keep them all. I've tried... The most I've owned at one time was 3~cars, 1~truck, 1~K5 Blazer and 1~Honda Full Dresser... and I was the only driver and all of them were on the road. Some of the vehicles I've hated that I've gotten rid of are '37 HD Knucklehead (Mom needed money after Dad died), '49 F1, '59 Studebaker Lark, '59 Mercedes 190, '62 HD XLCH, '64 T-bird, '66 Olds 88 (engine and trans ended up in my first '49 f1), '66 Mustang (289 w/ Factory AC), '74 Honda CB-350-4, '74 K5 Blazer, '76 El Camino, '76 Pontiac Lemans, '78 K5 Blazer (400 SB so no emission), '84 Porsche 944, '85 Nissan 720 Series King Cab 4x4, '95 Tahoe 4x4, and a '07 Avalanche. I know I missed some but as you can see I love my vehicles

After we had our 1st child, my wife wanted a bigger house. I had a 1/2 finished 40 Ford Pick up that I sold to help finance the new house. that was 16 yrs ago. Here's a picture of it almost finished by the 2nd owner since I sold it.
