Steering Components
This question is more for Bill, but anyone with an answer is very much welcome.
1969 F100 2WD with manual steering. I've got a bit of play in the steering and am looking to throw new parts at it. I'll be getting a Redhead box, so I know that much.
I'm wondering about the tie rods and such. From what the LMC diagrams are showing me, I can't simply replace tie rod ends and would need a new center link, inner tie rod, adjusting sleeve, and drag link.
Unless anyone can attest to LMC's quality, I'd rather stick to OEM. Anyone got part numbers and/or sources?

Make a plan, Find & Buy a 73-76 for FE engine or 73-79 for I6 or 302 engine and swap the complete I-Beam set for Power Steering & Power Disc Brakes. All the correct parts will be there. Find one in good shape and keep it simple.

I already have a plan and it is to keep the truck as it is. I don't want power steering nor do I want power brakes. I love the simplicity of my truck right now. Less parts, less weight, less to go wrong, more reliability. I also have drop beams right now, so I can't exactly throw on factory beams from a dentside. The other issue I see with that is that, being a used vehicle, it too will have some play in the steering. I want new parts.

I prefer Moog for steering linkages and such. Get'em from Rockauto.com, Summit, or National Parts Depot. Shop and compare... shipping charges can get gnarly expensive.
Replace at your own discretion. Me? I prefer to replace them all at one time to establish a "baseline" condition. A new adjusting sleeve is usually optional... that is unless it looks like a dog gnawed on it.

Okay, thanks. I'll look into it. And yes, that's exactly what I'm wanting to do. All at once. I'm trying to restore the entire drivetrain/chassis on my truck.

LMC would be the last place I'd buy anything. Their catalogs are rife with errors and omissions, parts are mostly from Asia.
And...LMC is a 'middle-man' aka 'go-between' operation, use the J. Paul Getty method of making a buck. Despite all the parts listed in their catalogs...
When you send in your order, they use your money to buy the parts elsewhere, from autoparts stores, other repro parts sellers.

These parts are available NOS, but are they Genuine Ford or autoparts replacements? One never knows what dealers/obsolete parts vendors have in stock.
Suggest you take HIO's advice and buy Moog...but I would suggest local NAPA or an indie autoparts store...no shipping charges. Shipping from the US (Rock Auto/NPD etc) to Canada, can be expensive.

I have a PO box in Washington. Parts in the US are almost always cheaper. I'll phone a local parts store though and see what their prices are.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the recommendations. I'll be sending you all some rep. I checked out Moog's website and they have everything I need. I want to include the adjusting sleeve as a may-as-well kind of thing.
