4x4=4x4 as far as the '04-'08 suspension goes.
"FX" is a trim level; FX4 has slightly larger wheels & tires, but not much difference as far as ride height. FX4 had standard LS differential (rear), 5.4L, skid plates, larger gas tank [than the lesser trims], and a "semi-pimp" interior.
