i have spent many hours researching the past post about e4od problems and cant seem to find any that match mine. so let me see if anyone has any insight that may help. i own a 95 PSD f250 2WD, here are my e4od problems. when i hook up my 10000# trailer and take off from a dead stop it feels like its chattering, until i lift off the go pedal. then it goes away and don't see it again till i take off. if i go real easy it doesn't do it. next i changed the u joint about a week later i started to get a vibration, now i assume it cause i didn't put the two piece shaft back together the same position it came out. tomorrow i will try to fix that, but doesn't it seem weird that it is happening about the same time as the shutter.
i don't know when the trans fluid was changed as i only put 8k on it since i bought it.(has 82k on her)so i will also do that tomorrow. how can i flush the whole system including the converter? thanks for your time jack k
I think what you are experiencing is the torque converter chatter. I get it also. On your 95 I don't know for sure but I think that the dealer can program some of that out.
As far as changing the fluid. I'd take the cowards way out and carry it to the dealer. They have the pump and the storage to really clean out the converter right. You might find somebody on the site hear that can tell you how.. Good luck.
i read that in some of the other post, but if it is doing that what is the reason?my family and i do alot of camping in the summer and would hate to be stuck with a dead converter and a 10 k fifth wheel in the boonies.jack k
