I've got a 1966 F100(F10YKA63758),that does not have the original motor.I,ve found plenty of casting numbers but lots of conflicting opinions.Could someone PLEASE help me decipher??!!!

It looks like you have a mixture of components, but they are definitely of the FE engine family. If the motor is siezed, about all you can do is pull the oil pan and find the ID cast number on the crank. If you wish to salvage the engine, or parts of it, you will need to head this direction anyway...

One way to rule as or to rule out the 352 is the readily identifiable number, "352" stamped on the front of the block. The location to look, or to clean like mad and then look, is about an inch below the head on the driver side, above the fuel pump, and to the right of the water pump. It is above the fuel pump, but not on the same face of the block as the fuel pump. The fuel pump opening is pointed toward the driver side front wheel. The stamp you are looking for is pointing right at you as you open the hood and stand in front of the truck facing the motor.
Man, I really need a digital camera so I can take pictures of things like this, and then share online. Hope this helps some...

I'm going to take a stab here, but since its a 1974 block I'll say its not an FE
(360/390/428). I think it might be a 351M/400 or 351C, but most likely a 302/351W. Anyone with me?

Huh? The cast in #"352" is on many (if not all) F-E's regardless of displacement. They used F-E's in trucks thru 76 so it COULD be a 1974 and still be an F-E. (360 maybe) Since it has those "C8AE-H" heads I figure it IS an F-E. My 68 390 has those same heads.

MAN, this is just bad info. the 352 does not indicate engine size and all 66-72 blocks say 352 no matter what size (390 427 428 etc...) 72-76 will have the mirror inage 105 usually as that indicates a different casting center. hawkrod

it is definitely an FE. the C8AE-H heads were used on almost all 68-72 cars and trucks and are the most common heads for an FE. the D4TE block is a 74-76 block but it would have come with the D2TE heads. the D5TE intake would be a correct 75/6 intake. the C5TE exhaust is 65-72 as well. it sounds as though they may have just replaced your heads during a valve job and maybe the exhaust manifolds (they are usually cracked so it is common). i'll bet you have a 75/6 360. hawkrod

hey thanks for all the input.there is no 352 on the block.i'm pulling the the oil pan tonight to check the crank casting.and pulling the block in the morning.(or vice-versa)and will post my findings.if i can figure out my computer i,ll post a pic.

Hey Philbert - sorry about that post on 7/1. I did not intend to mislead or post 'bad info'. All I wanted to find out was if there was a stamp in that location or not. I simply forgot to proof read my post before I hit the submit button. Had I done so, sentence one would not have survived intact. No defense here, just clarification. I'll be more careful from here on out.
As for those who may have taken offense to the post, pat yourselves on the back, you are correct. However, an aggressive correction can be equally offensive especially among a voluntary membership such as FTE. Considering the lofty status some have atttained, your posts lack tact. Maturity normally lends to an ability to pass out corrections without alienating your intended audience. This would require tact. Not fluff, but tact. Reaquaint yourself with the word if it has been a while. I promise that no harm can come of it.
And again, so no one feels the need to reply on this, or further explain actions of their own, I will state that, "I am not in a defensive posture here. It's definitely more amusing than that."
