my truck has been acting up lately. it is an 85 f-150 crew cab, long bed with dual tanks. my truck sometimes stutters (struggles to get acceleration) and it is really annoying. it also idels rough when it does this. my friend was telling me that it might be my fuel filter. so i went and bought a new fuel filter and went to change it but it was nowhere to be found. towards the front of the truck is the electric fuel pump and then towards the middle is a resevoir thing. ive followed the lines all the way to the enginge and i cant find it. im hoping whoever owned the truck before me didnt just take it out. any help on what my trucks problem is or where the dang fuel filter is will be much appreciated.
also, do you guys know of any good places to buy bench seats? new or used
Is your truck EFI? I'm assuming it's a 5.0L. If you don't have an external fuel filter, then it's inside the reservoir where all 6 fuel lines connect. The bottom screws off, but make SURE you have a new O-ring before you even START to turn it.
I have the same truck. Filter is in the reservoir. There are 2 sizes of filters. Maybe the parts store gave you the wrong one. Some trucks also have a second filter between the pump and reservoir.
