2004 Navigator headers

I've been searching through the forums quite a bit looking at shorty headers, and I can't seem to find any detail on headers that fit the 4V 5.4. There are quite a few who have used summit, bbk, and Gibson on expys and such, but I'm not sure if the 2/3 valve headers would work for the 4V. Any help on this would be great. Summit lists the Gibson shorts for around $550, just trying to figure out what other options I have available.

Thanks in advance.

DZ

Thanks for the reply Alloro. That is the set I was referring to above. I was wondering if there were alternate options out there for the 4 valve.

Thanks

Things to upgrade/ update while installing headers

Looking at pulling the trigger and ordering headers sometime this summer for the Nav. Are there any other updates that would be beneficial while doing this install eg. Engine mount bushings etc.? I'm at ~130k on it now, so any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm really trying to keep the Navigator vs. trading it off for an F150. Hoping this is one of those mods that will really convince me to keep it and help power/ maybe fuel economy at the same time.

Thanks in Advance,

DZ

My personal opinion is that you probably won't gain that much power to make that investment worthwhile. The 4v manifolds really aren't that restrictive. Of coarse there is room for improvement but not much. I would say a tune and gears would be your best bet for power and efficiency

I'm of the opinion that the 4-valver already comes from the factory with a tune. That's why Lincoln recommends 91 octane.
