i just put a coat of paint on my fender and like a minuite later it started to get a bunch of ridges in it is it because it wasnt wased right and it was mixed right because it came premixed.
Orange peel is caused by mis-matched paints. You can't apply an acrylic over enamel or enamel over oil. Auto paints these days are preety specific. You also need to use compatable primer. Good luck....
Orange peel is most likely not the priblem, since it is most likely caused by poor atomization from the spray gun or incorrect hardeners.
If it looked good when sprayed, THEN wrinkled up it could be from incompatible paint/primer products OR inproper prepping. Another possibility would be not waiting the correct time between coats of paint.
If you sprayed a fender without priming first then applied only one coat of paint, it most likely is incompatible paint.
Everthing is so high-tech these days you have to practically be a chemist if you deviate from the instructions.

I hear you there Huntsman. I am so used to spray cans, I wouldn't know where to begin with a decent set-up. It's a good thing I don't expect much from myself, when it comes to exterior painting!! HEE HEE... I'd rather have the GO, than the SHOW! It's hard to get a good look at a vehicle when it's moving like a bat outta @*#$!! Talk to you guys later....
