Intercooled Question
How can a combustion engine NOT have a water coolant system in it? Why would this engine not just cease up without the conventional radiator system?

Intercooled Question
Lightnings do have a conventional radiator system. The intercooler is to cool the air going into the engine from the supercharger. Compressing air heats it up. Some engines are air cooled like Volkswagen, Corvair, most lawn mowers. They have fans blowing air on the cooling fins cast into the cylinders.
