Anyone run a locker out back?

I believe ARB still makes the RD150 (Ford 9.75" 34 spline) that would work in our Expeditions. Question is, has anyone here actually installed one? I've been contemplating installing a rear locker for those moments when even my all-terrains fail in deep snow.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone on the forum that has installed a rear air or electric locker in their Expedition. Pros, Cons?

I have no experience in this, but just speculating here: Vehicles equipped with Ford's RSC (roll stability control?) achieves a "locking" rear end by controlling the hydraulic fluid for each wheel and in conjunction with the individual wheel speed sensors, can tell which tires are slipping and applies brake pressure to whichever tire is spinning. my 2007 has an open differential technically, but due to RSC, is basically a locking rear end. So I am unsure how putting in a physically locking diff will work with Ford's RSC. Unless the locker is so effective it totally overrides any potential input from RSC. Again, I have no experience with it, just thinking out loud

I've run Eaton/Detroit lockers in my CJ before so I do have a bit of experience using them. With regards to the RSC in the Expedition, it doesn't work at all like a locker. I've gotten stuck in deep snow before in the Expedition, even with off road tires where I know I wouldn't have if had been equipped with a lockable rear end.

What I don't know about is the strength of the half shafts in the Expedition. I assume they're strong enough. I've already spoken to a 4x4 specialty shop in my area and have been quoted about $2750 to install an ARB RD150 out back. That includes the price of the locker, a new bearing and shim kit, gauge and switch pack, plus compressor and installation of compressor. I don't plan to off-road the Expy due to its size and limited options of raising the vehicle, but I do believe a locker in conjunction with good AT or MT tires would keep me moving in deep snow where I live.
