ranger pulls a jeep

this all starts out with my ranger being pulled to my friends driveway to have a new steering column put in. The truck diedon the way there. Once we had the column put in and the problems worked out he wanted to know if my ranger would pull his 1962 jeep j200 pickup, it weighs 3 tons( took it to a truck scale). I said i dont think my little 2.8 liter has the power. But we tryed anyway, i hooked the rope up and the callenge began. The ranger pulled it 1/4 way up the hill before the rope snapped. I was amazed it could even pull the jeep.:-staun

The 2.8 is an excellent motor for its purposes. Its very efficient, somewhere over 30%, most gassers today are closer to 20%. The motor has modest power, good for its displacement. I have seen several that have over 200,000 miles on the odometer.
