N00b question....

Okay this is gonna sound dumb... but I'm a n00b to this.....

I know what a suspension lift is and all with the springs and such. The question I have is, what exactly is a body lift, and what do you use to lift the body? (i.e. suspension uses the springs and such, body lift uses... what?)

N00b question....

From the factory, the body is mounted to the frame with rubber bushings to help absorb bumps, make the ride seem a little smoother, etc... A body lift replaces these with taller bushings (not rubber) that increase the distance between the body and frame. Much cheaper than a suspension lift, BUT this is one case where you definately get what you pay for. A body lift does nothing to help increase suspension travel, and can cause problems with linkages, shifters, etc... Plus, and this is just my opinion, they just look funny.

N00b question....

Okay... so here's an idea...

Currently my Bronco II is my daily driver. Once I get a new daily driver (plan on getting '97 Expedition) I want to start modifying the BII. I don't want to do any giant lifts, huge tires, or PITA motor swaps. I just want a little higher than what I have now (stock height) and some bigger tires (but not too big, currently have 215/75/R15 BFG All-Terrains, I think). Basically, should I just go with a few inches suspension lift and the bigger tires, and then a few mods to the motor and then have fun with it? I'm not gonna go crazy with it, I just want a fun truck...
