2004 F-250. 6.0 I was driving down the road when the engine dies. It was like I had turned off the key. When I tried to restart it, it was no click, no starter sound, nothing. The glow plug light remained on, even while turning the key over. Any ideas on what could cause this?
X2 check for that and maybe loose wire or connection.
I checked all the fuses and wires where I could get my fingers on them. What gets me is, after allowing the truck to sit for almost an hour, it started and ran for 10-15 minutes before dying again. It hasn't started since.
In case someone else has this same problem. Turns out the problem is the exhaust backpressure sensor. The symptoms were engine stopping as if I had turned off the key. The starter motor wouldn't spin either.
