I have always hated these threads when other people have posted them. It's true, Bertha the Excursion goes home with her new owner tomorrow.
When I set out to find her a new owner, I didn't expect the level of emotion over it that I've experienced. So many of you I count my friends. Not just internet friends, but I'd trust my kids with you friends. I have been in your homes, I have eaten your food, I have borrowed your tools.
Bertha came to live with us in 2007 with 140,000 miles. We went to 18 states and Mexico. We competed in dozens of NHRDA and other drag race events in 5 states taking 3rd three different times. We once did 1200 miles from Ft Smith, AR to Kingman, AZ in one day. We ran on the salt flats at Bonneville, UT. Many of us will never forget that Sharon and I piled all 7 kids in the Ex and drove to RRE and back from California.
There will be another PSD in the family soon. I have my eye on a couple of options and I will keep you all updated. The odds of it being a SD 7.3 are slim. If its a 7.3, it will most likely be an OBS as they are smog exempt here in CA.
Wow. Brings a tear to my eye, brother. I am likely not far behind you with one of mine, and am dreading it. While I loves me some 7.3L, there's also a little something special about these Excursions. My wife LOVES HERS, and even my daughter who is about to drive wants to drive an Excursion versus any other vehicle.

I couldn't agree more. I feel more attached to our Ex then any other vehicle I've owned.
OP, sorry to hear you're getting rid of yours. She really is a great looking truck.
Wow Peter. Man I already know the feeling, hard to believe my ole Big Red has been gone for 2 years. I still think about Red often and look back at the pictures and remember some great times I had with it. But I had other goals for a truck that Red could not fill. I don't regret moving on, but I sure wish I could have kept it also. Good luck with your new ride what ever it may be.
Life goes on Peter! The good times with Bertha gives you the wisdom to create better times with the new PSD. Looking forward to what ya bring to Man Town!
Given Bertha's green and yellow intake, the NO has to be a Duck fan or a Green Bay fan, right?
Who am I going to practice/help take apart everything on top of the engine and put it back together all in just a few hours....and get it to start first time?
Congratulations on selling the old and congrats on the new rigs.

I'm not going anywhere. i have my eye on another Excursion. I don't want to jinx it but once/if I get it, we'll have to have a GTG at Andy's.

I didn't hear anything ... ... and I will be patient.
Yes,,,,,a GTG. I am looking for a dual axle cargo trailer so my money is being saved for that trailer but I may sneek in some stuff to buy for a GTG day.
Wow, my emotions just ran the gamut. !st, I think you are leaving us, then I think you are going 6.0 or 6.4, then OBS, but maybe not, then I see 2 beautiful pics of OBS's at the end. Whew, you really messed me up Pete.... Nice trucks. I am sure you will make them nicer before too long, and I remember you and the kids at RRE.
