OT What a year
Kirby year in review:
1. March - Sam (14) splits his head open weightlifting requiring stitches.
2. April- Sam gets hit by a baseball and breaks his maxilla (the bone that holds in the teeth) Now he has braces.
3. April - Elizabeth's iron level gets dangerously low requiring an IV iron infusion
4. Summer was pretty quiet, but time was spent on these medical issues.
5. September - Sam gets hit in football and injures his shoulder. Out for 2 weeks
6. October - Sarah (9) badly breaks her arm while I was in Maine. Nine weeks in a cast.
7. October - Elizabeth is in a bad car crash totaling her car. Fortunately she only got bumps and bruises.
8. December - Elizabeth's iron tanks again requiring another iron infusion.
9. January - Dog, so it almost doesn't count. Gus gets real sick and has surgery looking for a blockage. (which I assisted on) Turns out it was pancreatitis. (Just like Gwen has.)
10. Today - Elizabeth falls last Thursday and today we find out her pelvis is fractured. No activity for 6 weeks. She ran 10 miles on it Sunday. No wimps in the Kirby household. So now both Gwen and Elizabeth have had a fractured pelvis.
11. Today - Found out my mom's knee pain is due to a bad hip and it will be replaced on March 4th.
12. At work over the last year, 2/3 of my staff and my boss left for other opportunities. (I must smell bad) It took me about 9 months to get them all replaced.
I'm sure I missed something. Gwen (my wife)changed jobs during this time too.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Hey, I did make some progress on the truck....

All I can do when stuff hits now is to laugh.
Wow! thats a heck of a year. Thanks for posting that, it makes the little trials and tribulations I had look like minor annoyances.
You've been a busy man trying to keep everyone healthy.
Hang tough
Bobby
Sounds like your son should follow his father's footsteps and run cross country. Will your girl in college be able to run track this spring?
Hang in there.... the truck is good therapy, isn't it.
Abe, she was halfway through indoor season and having a very good one for her. The doctor wants her inactive for 6 weeks, which puts her at the start of outdoors. (That long without running will be very tough for her.) I'm inclined to think she will redshirt. The season wouldn't go too well with that much time off right before it.
Sam, well he would be pretty good at cross country, but they tend to frown on tackling during races. He loves his football and baseball. Actually he was ready to get back on the field only a few days after getting hit by the pitch. He doesn't like to sit on the sidelines.

It has been a challenging year, but all in all I can't complain. We have members here that have lost grandparents, spouses, even children. We have had members survive cancer and some that haven't. So our problems are relative. I wouldn't trade my problems with anyone, although there are some trucks you guys have I sure would like.
Sometimes it's good to just vent every once in a while.I heard a message the other day. Satan doesn't care about your health, your possessions, or your wealth. He is after your joy, your faith, your commitment to God. No matter the troubles that come your way. If you keep those things all will be well... in His time.
