need help !

I just put my 302 in my truck, 77 f-150 ,82 302, started up fine, let it run 20 min. disconected vacume advance and plugged hose, set timing, adjusted carb, checked time again ran great. Waiting to top off radiator, started to squal. Sounded like it was coming from front of oil pan. Took off serpentine belt and cranked engine, still squaled, know it's not water pump, power steering pump, or alternator. Pulled oil pan no signs of crank hitting oil pick up tube, no spun bearings. Pulled fuel pump and bumped key still have metal scraping metal sound. Think it is inside timing chain cover. Does anyone have any idea what the hell is making this noise, it's driving me nuts. Timing cahin hitting cover? Distributor shaft?
