Wow I have a fan! Thank you! I installed the Mass Air to make the swap to the Roller 5.0 HO easier. I didn't want any performance problems related with the stock speed density. When I installed it I had dual exhaust (no Cats), headers, S&B filter, and ignition upgrades. The Mass air system seemed to run much better. I was no longer experiencing a lean condition as I was with the speed density. Some people say that it isn't worth the money for the conversion. I will say that it wouldn't be the first mod that I would do, but I would definatley do it again with another rig.
Also after the install it seemed that I gained some low end torque. When I approached hills my rig would immediatley shift from OD to Drive. Now if I am doing 60 I can clear just about any hill as long as something doesn't slow me down below 60.
I don't believe that the mass air itself caused the peformance gain. I think that it just allowed me to take full advantage of the upgrades that I already had done! I guess only a Dyno would tell for sure!
