Just asking maybe a dumb question but thats how I learn...When I take the front vacuum line off the front of my Motorcraft 2150 carb do I need to have a "T" to have the line connected back to the carb and the gauge throught the stem to get the right reading of just the gauge right on to the port on the bottom right side of the carb where the distributer advance line goes? Thanks for the help and again sorry if its a dumbe question.
A vacuum gauge needs to be connected directly to intake vacuum.
The vacuum ports on a carb might be direct or ported vacuum. Ported vacuum is the usual source for distributor vacuum. You do not want to use the ported vacuum port.
For a test gauge you could use any full manifold vacuum. If you are making a permanent install of a vacuum gauge I would locate and unused vacuum port on the intake, most likely towards the rear of the intake.
