Presuming that the oil & filters have been regularly changed & the SCA has been "kept up", I cannot imagine that you'll have a problem with a 7.3 with only 95,000 miles.
(ASK for the maintenance records & get the CARFAX report.)
My "new to me" 1990 F250 Custom 2x4 (which I bought from a forum member) has 184,000 miles & runs like new.
Back then I had a 7.3 in a 1990 super cab. The only trouble had with the truck was the E4OD would not stand up to the torque. It was rebuilt under warranty and was showing signs of going out again when I got rid of the truck at somewhere around 70K miles.
I wouldn't own a truck with an E4OD again if they paid me. - Been there, done that, have the tee-shirt & didn't have a good time.
Make mine a ZF manual.
yours, satx
I think they redesigned out the weak parts somewhere around 1995. Anything after that or an original built with upgrades was supposed to be a decent transmission. I owned a couple later E4ODs and they were ok.
