I have been absent for a while, the working thing is wreaking havoc on my play time. I am almost at 250,000 miles, that is 175,000 miles in the last 5 years.
My 97 E-150 is still trucking along great, considering this winter we are having. I am having trouble at stop signs because the snow banks are so high I cannot see over them, that's driving in my van.
We have not see above freezing weather for well over a month and the early morning start-ups have been in the -20c range going down to -35c, that is -30f range for you to the south! Oh I have not seen my road for 2 months now as it is snow packed!
I am running on the Michelin LTX M/S 2 which are great. But in these snowy conditions they give up a bit to early, which makes for some controlled drifting.
Once some warm weather arrives it will be time for full maintenance, but until then it is Costco oil changes and only emergency maintenance.

I'm running my 7,800# E250 extended body on the world's worst tires----something from Firestone----they were on it when it was new-to-me. Any bit of ice of snow even under just two same side wheels and this thing wants to drift with a mind of its own.
So far I'm just too lazy to spring for new Michelin LTX's---as terrible as these Firestone's are they seem to get great tread wear.
Any day now though.................!
Welcome back PST, come back when time suits you---most of us will still be here I'm sure!
Sick of the snow and cold in Michigan as well. Most of my driving has been in my Subaru Forester (God bless AWD) although I've had my van out in a few heavy snow days and keep remembering the old momentum game. But with a posi in my van, it will slight downhill on a crowned road (or on my backyard driveway) when things are covered with ice.
Reminds me of winters in the good old days, although with me being old, the weather sure bums me out. My wife is retiring this year and I am tempted to try to engineer a snowbird lifestyle Prolly won't happen, tho.
Holy cow that's a bunch more snow than we have, and we have a LOT here in Detroit. We have vacationed in Tobermory and that is a wonderful area. We live a block off Lake St. Clair and from the corner, can see Windsor about 4 miles across the lake, but you are definitely north of that, and it looks like in an area where you get a lot of lake effect snow. Here's hoping for a major thaw, and I guess the good thing is that the water levels of the great lakes will be up this year.
looks like my yard. and we finally got above zero today.
I like it when its close to zero cause the snow is lighter to shovel. but my diesel dont like to start so I dont if I dont have to. hard to work on it it when the ground is snow covered for sure. so mine sits unless I need it. cheaper that way.
I still want more snow in the mountains for skiing and snow run off in the summer.
