c6 to np435 swap questions
Going to look at another dent soon (79 f150 351m c6 np205) One thing I was wanting was for it to be a 4speed but its not. I do how ever have a parts truck that is a 4speed (78 f150 351m np435 np205) The new truck supposedly has a new reman engine so I'd like to keep that motor in it. Everything should swap right over in theory. I have been searching on here and have read a few things I want to make certain are correct. Are the drive shafts the same length auto vs 4speed? Is there a threaded hole on the engine block that only manual trans trucks have for the clutch linkage? Crossmembers that same? I've never done any trans swaps before so not for sure if it would be a PITA or not. My thinking is it shoulds all be a bolt in swap sense the engine trans combo was a stock option. Little help?

Yes....complete bolt in swap. Even for the clutch pedal. Mine was converted from auto to a 4spd and Id like to convert back to auto. ( I'd like it to be all original-ish) My Dad did the swap and he said it was all plug n play. Only thing that might throw you a curve ball is the wiring for the reverse lights as the switch is on the trans. Ive yet to crawl under mine and see what happened to the wiring for the N.S.S. (neutral safety switch). Im thinking its been hacked up.
