00 f350 180k auto 4x4. I've been chasing a intermitent misfire
Spit sputter etc. when it acts up it has a different diesel sound. Won't hold
Steady rpm cuts out etc. I've put a new cam sensor new icp
Pulled valve covers checked uvc connections. I believe I have a ipr problem.
I pulled ipr disassembled and cleaned last night. Reinstalled it
It started right up but spit and sputtered I reved it hard a few times it stalled
And would not start up. I cranked it until the batteries died. Charged them
And tried again today and it fired up and ran just fine. I'm kinda afraid to drive and get stranded. Does That sound Normal for ipr removal? Should I just replace it?
If you removed the IPR and reinstalled without adding oil to the HPOP reservoir you will most likely have air in the system, which could be why it stalled shorty after starting and would not fire again. This is apart from the original issue though.
I agree with Shake N Bake, if UVC connections are good, fuel pressure would be my next logical step.
It has plenty of fuel in the. Filter houseing. Not sure about pressure. It ascts more like a hpop problem. I did not refill hpop wanted to make sure that was normal to run crappy and quit after draining hpop. It seems to rev and idle fine now. Going to take it for a spin and see what happens.
