On the label it should indicate CJ4, if not then I would not use it.

Also if there is a spec # on the bottle then consult your owners manual and it will have the spec # as well. If they match then you are good.

10W30 oil designed for gasoline engines is not going to meet the CJ4 designation. There is a difference in the additives used in the oil.

OK, gotcha. Thanks. You guys use 15w40? That's what I use in all my other diesels. Just went with 10w30 cause that's what it says on the cap

I use 15-40WT since I tow heavy. My average temps where I live are usually above 20F so that fits well with the 15-40.
