I love the way my stock steel wheels and hub caps look but i want to get a wider rim, the same style tho. Does anyone know a company that makes custom steel wheels, Any info would be great, Thanks
Coker Tire also sells larger diameter/wider steel wheels that are OE-lookalikes as well. They are pretty pricey but in 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern for an F-150 you can get 17x7, 17x8, 18x7 and 18x8 OE-looking steelies. Be prepared to pay $250-300 apiece though/
i locked into stocton wheels and they cost 160 for the wheel primed, i want them white which would be another 40 per wheel and then another 40$ to ship them, idk if i want to spend 240 per wheel yet
Look into wheel vintique on summit. Last year I got a pair of 15x7 steel wheels for my pickup for the winter spring wheels people love the wide wheel look on my truck.
Another source is Accuride (formerly Firestone Rims.) They mainly make steel dually rims for larger trucks but are also a big OEM supplier for steel single wheels for GM and Ford as well. I don't know if you have an F-150 or a 250/350 but Accuride made some later Ford OEM rims which are a little larger and wider than what shipped on a Bullnose truck but are otherwise identical:
- #29576, 16x7, 8 on 6.5". Stock on steel-wheeled OBS F-250/350 SRWs.
- #50274, 16x7, 5 on 5.5". Stock on late-model E150 vans.
If you have an F-150, it uses the 5 on 5.5" pattern and the stock wheel is 15x6. The #50274 would give you an inch larger and wider rim and you can put a 265 section width tire on the 7" rim vs. 235s on the 6" rim. F-250s and 350s normally shipped with 16x6s and the #29576 is an inch wider. These wheels are about $100 new but you can usually find them for less than $100 a set used at a scrapyard in good condition if you look for the vehicles they originally came on.

The original wheels on my 1986 F150 are the argent colored spoked wheels with the center cap and trim ring with the red stripes. These also are often found on Broncos. The bolt pattern is 5 X 5 1/2 and the wheel is 7" wide with the correct factory back spacing.
If the hubcaps you have and like so much are the full wheel hubcap, rather than the "dog dish" caps, then a set of these wheels would work just fine. The center cap and trim ring would be left off and the hubcap mounted. I have done it.
If you have the smaller dog dish hubcaps, this will not work, because these wheels do not have the raised areas for mounting the dog dish caps.
Depending on where you live [freight would be a killer], I have a second set of these wheels. PM me, if you want to discuss further.

The 5th wheel for my truck's spare tire is a argent colored plain steel wheel which is 6" wide. It can mount the dog dish hubcaps. It is a different style from the early ones [1984] in that it has small cooling slots.
The reason I reference 1984 is that my son has a 1984 F150 and we swapped wheels for it. It came with 5 1/2" wide ones for the original 215/75 X 15 tire. The tires were upgraded to 235/75 X 15 and a set of wheels from a factory original 1984 4 X 4 were swapped to give a wider base for the wider tire.

Then you either want the inch-wider 16x7 Accuride 29576s or one of Coker's 16x8 or 16x10 8x6.5" pattern wheels. However if the Stockton prices are too high for you, Coker's are even higher.

I think im going to go with stockton, i want 16x9, and im thinking 4.5 backing spacing, i dont want the tires to stick way out like all the trucks today

You can fit 33s under there and they won't stick out much. My 9" wide 235 snow tires look ridiculously small under it.
What's your aspect ratio? I'm partial to P265/70R16's myself. Will probably have A/Ts on all three trucks by the end of the year.
Summer tires are 33x12.5r16.5 and are the max you can go without rubbing. Snow tires are 235x85r16 which are a bump up over the stock 215s. The 33s stick out about an inch and a half or so and give it an aggressive look without being ridiculous. If you have fender flares it hides them a bit. 235s just look small. Never ran 265s before but I have heard 235x85 is the same thing as 265x75. To me they look small.

Depends on the setup I guess. I run the 265's on my Xterra, and it looks big. My wife's Explorer has 235's and those look a bit small. Probably go with 265's on everything to keep it simple, as all three vehicles have 16's. I'm more concerned with wheel width. I need 8" to fit 265/70's.
