Nice. I used KemFX from The Coating Store.com. The color was Viper Blue and your image reminded me of it. My paint job turned out bad because I didn't mix it long enough but the color was awesome. I need to reorder it so I can finish up my project.
Just curious what do you mean when you said you didnt mix it long enough? Edit.lol. I guess you meant you didnt stir or shake it long enough? I am getting tired I guess.lol . Little slow. Did you use the right reducer?
Shake the can, the metallic was condensed so much it had light and heavy flake in different areas. It was too noticeable to continue so I didn't clear it.
Have you ever used that brand?

No, never used that kind. Did it sit for a long time before you used it I wonder. Heavy metallic paint can be tricky to spray some times
Yep, sure did. I let it sit for 4 months before using it, I only had it on the shaker for 10 minutes. This was also my first paint job so I guess I shouldn't expect much. In fact, next time it goes to a painter. I tried to do the whole frame off myself but I struggle with body and paint. The body was really straight, just minor dings and I still have probably 80 hours into it, but hey, this thing is smooth.

You'll never get better unless you try and try again. I take it is the truck in your avatar?

That's the one.
I have to convince my wife to let me try again. When I started the project I told her it would probably be 6k to complete. Well I have everything but I'm in for just over 10k. I guess I miscalculated

Lol. Well it looks good. Yea sometimes we have to bite the bullet and make our wives happy. If they aren't happy we aren't either.
Well I got all my parts in except paint. They say that since its coming out of the carolina's somewhere that the weather has the shipping all jacked up. Going to start on it this week. Been busy with work and all so I havent been able to do anything on it yet. I will get some pics as I go.

You're going to waste some nice warm weather to paint in if you don't have it built Eric--LOL.

Yea I know.lol . I do water damage houses so unfortunately when it warms up all the Broken pipes shows up too.lol. kind of sucks but what can I do. I think once I get started on it, it should only take 3 or 4 days to get it ready to paint.

Yup, I definitely understand making hay while the sun shines. The Ex will be there.....
I've got an EGR delete and oil cooler to do. I would like to take advantage of the warm weather but the customer just can't turn loose of his truck yet, and I understand. He's not hurting it driving it so I patiently wait and I'm sure my bones won't complain.
Well I finally started to work on the ex. Worked about 4 hours on it today. Got all the old off and straightened some metal and hung the sheet metal to get it to fit. Now I just need more time to take it all off and prime it to get it ready to paint. Still need to fix the driver side door.
Well been working a bit on the ex and thought I would update with some pics. I took of the cladding because I really dont like it and fixed the rear quarter panel where the cladding goes. The metal was formed with cladding and holes in it for it to snap in. Welded some metal on it and cleaned it up. Ran a snag with the front bumper. Thought I ordered both brackets and guess i only ordered one. So I have to wait for it to come in to put the bumper on. Its painted and ready to go on. I also updated the front end with 05-07 front end.
