Just picked up a 65 flatbed
Its a 65 F100 that was originally a straight 6 auto.
1968 Ford Fairlane 302 small block V8. Heads were professionally rebuilt with dual springs, new valves, guides, retainers, 3 angle valve job, and topped with full roller rockers and ford racing valve covers. Bottom end is polished crank, original rods, bored .040 over, and flat top pistons. The camshaft is a custom ground .480" lift 280 degree intake and exhaust pushed by a double roller timing chain. It is topped with an edelbrock performer rpm intake, and edelbrock 650cfm carb. The ignition is full MSD, wires, distributer, coil, and ignition box.
The Body:
I do not know the true mileage of this truck, the original 5 digit odometer said 58,000 miles. the front end has been rebuilt with new core support and has been painted and sealed. the interior was completely stripped out to repair rust holes. the floor has been sealed, Hush-Mat'ed, and reinstalled. the dash has been redone with new Autometer guages. The bed is a flat bed frame no wood yet. It's got a 9" rear
The Electrical s all re-done with a painless kit. It's got some rust and slight body damage but not bad. Interior is decent needs a headliner.
Obviously this isn't a resto, looking to do more of a rod thing. Thinking about some woodwork for the bed, maybe disc brakes, and dropping it a couple inches. Some interior and paint.
Curious if anyone has gone this route with a 60s flatbed and maybe some sources for parts like the disc brake kit?
Thanks for any help,
Bill
