Wipers won't turn off......sometimes!

My guess is that my two issues we're related to some event that cause the programing on my truck to get a little messed up. What that was I have no idea. But its been good since, and fixed all free of charge.

Not that I would recommend this is a great option, but I'd check you fuse box to see if one exists for just the windshield wipers. I'd guess other things are attached that are hopefully non vital (like the stereo on a 9 hr trip).

Thank you, I will give this a try in the morning. I am not very mechanically inclined (read female...lol) but I would rather break something than drive another 9 hours like the 9 I drove today.

When I went to get in the truck the next morning it had stopped. So far it has not started acting up again. I will check with my dealer when I get home.
Is there a particular part that I should request they check/replace?
Thank you

I'm not a technician, so I'm not the best resource for mechanical questions; I'd recommend discussing this with the dealership's service manager. Come back and tell us how the visit goes once you get home. I'll keep checking in on this thread to see when you have any news.

Same Intermittent Wiper Issue
I'm having the same issue. I'm at 36,450 miles, so the dealer said no warranty. Service manager said he's seen this on several other F-150s and that it's the control module under the steering wheel which would set me back $200. I see people here saying it is the switch.
Is my dealer wrong?
Is there any hope of this being covered under warranty as common as this seems to be?
I'm scheduled to take it in tomorrow to have the front hubs replaced for the third time (seriously), so they're gonna fix this, too.
Any help is welcome! Thanks!
Brian

I responded to your post on another thread but wanted to reach out to you here, too. Did your dealership already repair the truck and return it to you? Let me know and I'll see what I can do to assist.

I had this problem start up this week on my 2013 Explorer. he dealership told me its not a warranty piece (2 years old 45k miles) $300 for a new sensor. I'm not happy that I have to pay $300 because my wipers won't shut off! it was -8 this morning and I'm constantly having to use wiper fluid every 20 seconds and I work 30 miles from home! Come on Ford clearly its a defective part.
