I got stuck out on I 30 on my way home Friday night from La. I held down the same 72 ft of interstate for over 10 Hrs because of ice so slick you couldn't even stand on it!! Then had to fight though all of the people white knuckling it , I finally just got off and ran the 2 lane for a while and got away from them. Made it home safe and sound. Jeff, I run down your way though El Dorado every day on my way down to Campti La now.
Wonder how many days this week the kids are going to be in school?

Me neither...thus I'll just stick with the frozen stuff; no skeeters or ticks to deal with. Though it's hell keeping the truck clean & salt free when they're spreading it every other day it seems up around these parts.

And this boys & squirrels is why I don't miss my steering wheel holder days. With a 180 ton locomotive...ice is just something else to knock out of the way. Now the steps/ladder and walkways along the side of the engine. Yeah, they're a tad bit slick!
Awe shucks, the snow missed us and the kids have to go to school everyday this week. I know somewhere I should come up with some compassion for the poor abused kids that have to go to school. While I'm thinking about it, has anyone talked to Alan lately? I see he's still active on FTE, just haven't gotten around to sending him a PM since he hasn't been in the monthly thread in awhile.

I can see the headlines...couple found frozen together on ATV discovered by local youth out rabbit hunting. Have fun, I'm going to stay in the house & warm until it's time to go to work and ride the meat locker again. Sitting out on the river bridge in a locomotive without a heater (blow motor died last night) is just down right miserable.
Folks keep blowing my facebook profile up with announcements about some kind of made up holiday today. Since I'm not getting holiday pay for it...much not be a very important one. Oh well, after another 12 night it's bed time.

We're supposed to see near 70 Monday/Tuesday. Maybe I should get the scooter out for a couple of hours?
I'm not sure my road will be dry enough to get a bike out by then. Still ice in some places and inches deep mud in others. The Slick is still iced in at my kids' house, so I've been enjoying getting the Jeeps just absolutly covered in mud.
I wonder if Winter is over...or are we going to get snow in May again this year?

Against my wife's best wishes...I get dirty in a different way, and the boy is there by my side having a grand time. It's not the fact I'm getting dirty...it's the kids follow Dad like a couple of sheep and are having a good time. That and the clothes they've destroyed...that's were I'm really getting into trouble.
