Hey Dennis... I am sure you will see this post...
Were you at PYP today? I saw a silver truck with topper and 'THEBRAT' plates and was wondering if that was you...
I scored some D0VE C heads there this afternoon...

It was the white Supercab with the busted-out windshield and rust on one side. The hood was already off, but nothing was touched under it except the air cleaner, which was removed and on the ground.
It must be a new arrival in the last couple days, as I haven't seen it my last trip on Tuesday, when I scored some tires and rims for my Torino...

I was at that truck for an hour.
I took the hood off with the help of another guy.

I got the brake booster from it.
That had dove heads on it ?

Crap, I could have had those.

You must have passed me on the way in.

Can you believe a guy came there with a few wrenches and a screwdriver .....and wanted the oil pan from it.

He had no idea what he was doing.

When I gave him a list of what to take off JUST to get near lifting the engine he said Thanks, My time is worth more than this.

Yeah, I was quite surprised to see those heads in there... I have been waiting for quite a while to get a set for my truck... The worst part was probably getting the a/c box outta the way, but all in all, it went good. (took me about 50 seconds! LOL)
The guy who wanted the oil pan... He would have needed a jack to lift the engine enough to be able to work on the oil pump bolts...

I am not sure what the block was; it was pretty oily under there. But, the D5 intake was enough to tell me that it is probably just a 2 bolt main 460, factory, with the addition of these D0VE heads, obviously added. All of the locknuts on the rocker studs for the passenger side were all missing! I noticed that when I pulled the valve covers. Driver side was missing a few, but some were on there... I found one bent pushrod.

Say, don't you have a CJ 429 in your truck? You have the D0OE heads, then? That would sure be a nice find! Pretty rare, tho...
The smaller combustion chambers and huge plumbing would be great...
Do you know what compression ratio I will get with these D0VE's?

Really? I would go from a stock 8:1 ratio to 10.5:1?
I didn't think it would be that much! Know of any good shops that can recondition these for me? I don't have the machines to do it myself... At that ratio, I want to get these on asap!

Thanks, Dennis...
BTW, you may want to look at the block in that truck... I have a suspicion that it may be a 429 in there... The pistons are flat-top, single eyebrow, and I'm pretty sure 460's all had a dished piston, even earlier ones (only not as dished as the later years! LOL)
It might be worth checking on... Who knows, it could even be a 4-bolt!
I never looked that close to see casting numbers, and the starter is still on, making it even more difficult to see...
